Thick layers of dust cover the barrels and crates still kept within this ancient storeroom, the wood aged but neither warped by moisture nor penetrated by hands. The goods at one point were neatly labeled, but age has rendered the ink on the labels faded to the point of incomprehensibility—indeed, the stored goods might be in better condition than the signs themselves. The construction of this room must have been exacting indeed to have remained in such fine if aged conditions, the goods laid in a time before your grandparents and your grandparents’ grandparents!
