The tangled riot of growth tended into a boundary of the fields stands as a barrier like the wall of a castle, but here you spy a sallyport. A trail beaten through the grass from the roadway leads to a kind of tunnel through the hedgerow. Perhaps it was first the foray of badger sappers, but the path has since been widened by invading deer so that a person might hunch and crawl through.
