You travel by road, setting out at dawn each day and following its winding path. The first day of the journey passes uneventfully and you bed down in the shade of a tree by the roadside. The next day, you find an overturned cart, long-ago ransacked of anything valuable. You wonder if the bandits who attacked the cart still frequent this road, but shove the worry aside. You press on, despite your weariness, and on the third day— as the sun dips behind the distant hills—you reach your objective.
