Though a line has been drawn, it is inevitable that someone will cross it and be the first to break the peace. The adventurers must prepare themselves—with boisterous drums and staccato strings backing them—for the coming battle. Male chanting gets the party’s hearts racing, soon joined by female choir singing and some bardic inspiration. Combat may not have been the hope, but it is the reality.
