On the open steppe, white mountains to the north and jungle to the south, the god’s territory may appear. The air charges with danger, the senses sharpen, and a brewing hunt or battle whispers its approach on the wind. The blowing grasses still, bird calls cease, and animals surround the great clearing. Two great campfires erupt, one on each side of the plain, and a stone altar rises at the field’s center. All present feel the power of the wild take over the world when the god strides down from the foothills to the altar and unleashes his warcry.
