Conditions of Use

I’m a content creator: Can I use a dScryb text scene in my commercial publication, broadcast, or stream?

Almost definitely! Send us an email and there is an extremely good chance that we’ll grant you permission to reproduce or narrate a scene or scenes, for free, in your publication or broadcast.

I’m a Gamemaster or player: Can I share a scene on social media?

Yes! Reproduction of scenes for private purposes and for public non-commercial purposes that do not cause a substantial adverse effect, financial or otherwise, to dScryb, are permissible. Finding a bright line can be difficult, but there’s a clear difference between, say, sharing a scene on Twitter (which is encouraged), and posting 500 scenes on Reddit (“A team of lawyers file into the boardroom, heaving stacks of parchment covered in the arcane rune © and Latin maxims…”).

As for Michael Ghelfi Studios (MGS) & dScryb’s original music, ambiences, and sound effects

There’s an exception for music composed by Karl Kasey. He requests to add “Music by Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio” in the description of your videos as well.

My YouTube video has been claimed, what should I do?

It’s not a bug. You didn’t credit properly.

You can release claims automatically by following these simple steps:

  1. You received a claim because the required keywords are missing from your video description.
  2. You must update the description with the correct keywords.
  3. You dispute the claim via YouTube Studio.
  4. Once disputed, the system rechecks the video description automatically.
  5. If the correct keywords are present, the claim will be inactivated automatically. No manual action or dashboard interference needed.

Can I monetize the video by allowing ads?

Absolutely! Just make sure to credit us properly (see the other questions about YouTube) or your video earnings will be claimed by the composers. If you credit properly, you can keep 100% of the earnings.
