Starting with Opus
What is Opus?
Opus is the perfect web app for your tabletop roleplaying games. Optimized for prep, play and immersion. You can learn more here.
Anyone can launch the Opus platform, but only Celestial and Composer subscribers can access its audio—which is where the magic happens.

How do I launch Opus?
Click “Launch Opus” in the website header or click here.
I launched Opus, what now?
Launching Opus will take you to the Opus homepage, as shown in the picture below. It’s divided in two main tools : Roam, and Collections.
This is where you can:
- Launch Roam
- Create a new Collection; Music, SFX or Ambience Playlists (these are file types of Opus; collectively referred to as “Opus files” or just “files”)
- Open an existing file
- Browse and open Featured (made by dScryb and partners) and Community (made by other users and set to ‘Public’) files
The tools
Roam is a user interface in Opus ideal for browsing the audio library and running sessions on-the-fly without preparation.
A Collection is one of the file types in Opus—and by far the most important one. Collections are best used to prepare sessions or settings in advance.
Three types of audio
One crucial element of audio is that audio is divided in three big types, with their associated color and icons.
In Green, ambiences. Depicted by a soundwave. Ambiences are atmospherical sound effects that always loop. You can layer them as much as you want.
In Blue, music. Depicted by a music note. You know what music is.
In Yellow, SFX. Depicted by a lightning bolt. Instant sound effects, between 2 to 60 seconds. You can optionally loop them to customize the scenes. They work well over ambiences. They can also be played by players, optionally.
