You become aware of the slight, silent figure perched on the highest part of the clock tower overlooking the town, looking longingly at the horizon. As you approach, the figure pushes back the cowl of his cloak to reveal an avian face, covered in black feathers like a raven, solid dark brown eyes surveying you. Abruptly, he pulls a pan flute out from under his cloak and blows a two-note salute of greeting to you, then hops down from his perch to a nearby roof.
