This is a simple staff of lightly stained wood, fitted with a padded armrest. It is of better make than the standard crutch you might find in a hospice. With each tap against the ground, you can hear a slight metallic clink. You see now that the end of it is fitted with an iron tip, a slit down its middle. The handhold of the crutch, too, has an out-of-place mechanism: a small button akin to a trigger.
