He is fire and stone, this broad-shouldered man with skin like a crust of cooled lava. What looks like molten material is in his laugh lines and other wrinkles, with similar fissures marking his forearms and hands where his clothing, the garb of a farmer, doesn’t cover his skin. His hair, shoulder length on his head and short surrounding his mouth, is like fine filaments of obsidian, and the brown, shiny orbs of his eyes are hard to read. He carries a long-hafted billhook as a polearm, akin to a commoner turned foot soldier. Adding to his otherworldliness, the air around him thrums subtly with latent energy rather than heat.
