The countenances represented on the stone effigies within the tomb are those of two kings of the royal line, laid side by side as they were in life. The splendor of the tomb’s decorations are reflective of their highest of stations as well as of their love. A heavy slab of polished marble, monument as much as immovable obstacle, covers the shared coffin.
