If you notice them at all, it will be with your peripherals. Constantly at your back—gnashing teeth sending shivers down your hamstrings—the squat goblin with the bulbous head seems to hound your every step, masking the subtle creaks of their leather armor by moving in sinister synchronicity with your longer, louder stride. Crossed over their shoulders are two single-edged blades—crafted from crude slabs of contemptuous steel—so heavily notched they appear deliberately serrated. Patinated by gallons of canine blood, the nightmare metal seems to weep red tears from the flanged holes bored through each blade. That same red stain seems to ripple across the goblin’s gray skin in the form of corrugated rashes, which ravage the creature like storm-tossed waves.
