A blur of auburn feathers gleams like the steel of a throwing dagger as the avian humanoid plummets—wings tucked against their lithe frame, beaked head leading like the point of a javelin. A whistle accompanies the dive, wind whipping past. The birdfolk reaches out with curved talons, and, in the instant before they hit the ground, they wheel upward, clutching their prey and hauling them into the air with a flurry of movement. The prey's screams fade as they're carried aloft, higher and higher, disappearing into the endless void of the sky, before the dive bomber lets go—and the earth rushes to meet the unfortunate victim.
