The serene lapping of water on the lakeshore is periodically broken by loud splashes and the slaps of tails. Most of the towering oak and maple trees in the area have been chewed down and dragged into the water, the massive pile of logs, twigs, and mud now blocking its flow. Beavers of all sizes dip in and out of the lake while those on the dam continue their construction efforts.
