The sign Welcome to Pancakaru – a Snuggles-Free Haven! greets visitors at the gates into the bustling city atop the tropical mesa. Beyond it, dozens of fellow critters of varying kinds go about their business, the smells of roasted almonds and fresh cornbread from a nearby inn making mouths water. Dominating the many shops is a trio of tall buildings, each of which is topped by an ornately painted dome that tapers to a fine point.
