Across the expanse of bubbling pools of acid, birds cry out to each other from their disparate perches. Spouts of steam pierce through the viscous surfaces of these acidic bodies, hissing up toward the sky. A spaceship flies overhead, slowly but not lingering. As it does, a low moan—the call of a creature—booms across the land. Another ship passes by not long after, this one more harried than the first.
