The sea rushes up and down the shore in its steady beat, water running over crystalline sand. Miners work along the shore, bringing pickaxes down, plinking, on the larger crystals protruding from the sand. The rock around the gemstones crumbles into pebbles as the miners make progress, digging their work boots into the crystal-shard sand as they move from prospect to prospect.
