The opening music box feel drops to a subdominant minor scale, and a flute seems dedicated to coaxing the painted clown of the marimba and vibraphone to better spirits. One of the essences is a clarinet performing between the creepy vibes and the hope of play. The darkness resumes, though, with a pretty but bored violin. This voice wins out, bringing in the orchestra and closing the door on a piano coda.
